Cyclists, runners, and Nordic skiers rely on their legs to get them where they’re going, so it’s important to keep them warm and comfortable. That’s why Pearl Izumi makes the ultra-toasty AmFib Women’s Tights, which fit like race gear but insulate like you’re on an arctic adventure.
The AmFib is made from a blend of Pearl Izumi’s Elite AmFib softshell and Elite Thermal Fleece fabrics. Thermal Fleece, which constitutes the back panel, handles thermo-regulation and moisture wicking. Amfib softshell is incorporated in key areas to keep out light precipitation and wind. The two fabrics coordinate effectively, so much so that Pearl Izumi gives the AmFib tights a thumbs up for temperatures as low as 15 degrees Fahrenheit. In case you’re concerned about the tights getting too balmy at their recommended upper limit of 40 degrees, you can ventilate from an opening at the top of the waist — though its main intention is for easy natural breaks.
Pearl Izumi offers plenty of cycling-specific tights with included chamois, but the AmFib skips the padding so you can also use it running or Nordic skiing. To ensure full comfort no matter your activity, Pearl designed the tights to allow full articulation, with anatomically-minded seams and a lower leg that follows a contoured shape. Not only does this streamline and secure the fit, but it eliminates gaps to reduce heat loss. Pearl also added 360 degree reflective accents for safer night riding and running.
