The Arcadian Shop’s story began with a simple dream: turning a love of the outdoors into a way of life. Founded in 1974, the Shop has grown from its humble beginnings on Church Street in Lenox to its current location at 91 Pittsfield Road—a historic building dating back to 1781. Under the stewardship of Larry Lane, who started the business with his friend John Fernsall prior to becoming sole owner in 1982, the Arcadian Shop evolved into a hub for outdoor gear, community events, and adventure.
In 2023, Larry passed the torch to three longtime employees and Berkshire County natives: Chris Calvert, Keith Dupuis, and Jeff Minkler. Together, with over 75 years of combined experience, they continue the tradition of providing exceptional service, quality gear, and a welcoming environment that feels like family.
